From Where Does The Argument Begin?

Today, debate about issues dominates politics. There is no discussion about principles. For example, there is a beginning whatever, whenever, and wherever that is or was. That beginning was based upon a common understanding of what is good and right. That would be a principle.

Next, there is a cause which is an error. The cause brings a result which is a reflection of the error. To complicate the matter, a debate over the result leads to another cause to clean up the error, and that result is the refelection of another error having now strayed from the original principle.

Logically, it would make sense to go back to the original principle, and either correct the principle if it is wrong and establish a new principle, or recognize the original principle and remove the error and restore the original principle as an acceptable status.

The problem lay in the fact that people are now arguing the results instead of the principles and applying bandaid approaches to correcting the erroneous results. This leads to confusion, chaos, injustice, partisanship and bitterness.

What many do not want to recognize is that there are people who subvert the principles intentionally in order to gain an advantage at the expense of others. Obvious examples would be political legislation which favors one party over another. This polarization (racial, economic, religious etc.) causes greater problems, because it is human nature for people to protect their interests. If people do not see a restoration of the original principles as protecting their interests; or worse yet have lost touch with the original principles all together, then the debate become vitriol with no possible solution.

Think about it!
