The Four Most Important Words

What are the four most important words ever spoken/written?  They are the foundation of everything!  “In the beginning God…..”  Life, creation, all that exists or ever existed is founded upon those four words.  If you don’t believe that God is self existing and eternal, then nothing in the Bible, or life for that matter, has meaning apart from a broad array of personal opinions which never agree perfectly.  God is universal – everywhere, and as well, He is outside of the universe which is His creation.  Who can comprehend something outside of our universe?  God’s domain/throne is in Heaven, and that is where His elect (believers) are promised a place in eternity.  Those who believe have had their hearts changed by God.  Those who do not believe have not had their hearts changed, and it is those who declare God is “not fair”.  God doesn’t have to be fair, because He is God, and He is Sovereign over all of His creation.  Who will hold God accountable?  Certainly, man will not!

The result is that God has determined how man will enter Heaven.  He will do so by the salvation of his eternal soul.  God has declared all men sinners.  Sin separates us from God.  To be reconciled, and therefore restored to and joined with God, we must be saved from our sins.  God determined that method would be through His only begotten (not created) Son Jesus Christ.  Jesus Christ lived a sinless and perfect life, and was crucified, dead, and buried and rose from the dead to live eternally.  As such, God’s grace (mercy) justifies (eliminates the guilt of sin) God’s “elect”.  We are told we are saved by grace through faith which is also a gift.  Once saved, we are to believe upon Jesus Christ at which point in time, we have a heart to Obey God’s laws and precepts.  We are still sinners, but now we hate our sins and desire to shed them.  That takes us beyond justification to the process of sanctification which is the life long process of becoming holy.  We will never become entirely holy until we die and go to Heaven.  And, again, it is only by God’s will, grace and sovereignty.
