Gun buybacks – the government wants you to think they are buying back what they gave you in the first place, and they’re doing it with your tax dollars. How stupid are you? Maybe, just maybe, they are stupid for thinking you are stupid. Check out the unctuous new Governor of New Jersey.
Stop gun violence! Come on, how violent is a gun? A guy set a gun on his front hall table, and walked away for the day, and when he came back, it was still there, and it hadn’t shot anyone. Guns aren’t violent, people are. People are violent with guns, bats, lead pipes, 2X4″s, cars, trucks, buses, knives, swords, rocks, bricks, fists, feet and words etc. etc. Shall we outlaw or regulate all of those? Drowning, falling, traffic accidents, spending time in the hospital, or taking pharmaceutical medications are more deadly to more people in America than guns. Poor people in crime ridden neighborhoods are more vulnerable, and with regulations, they can’t afford the “approved” guns.
Why do you need a gun? That’s one of the liberal mantras. I need one to protect myself from people who think like liberals and are willing to expose me to the actions of illegal immigrants, rapists, robbers, thieves, muggers, TYRANNICAL politicians, rogue people in authority etc. etc. See Federalist Paper #28 from Alexander Hamilton – this is why we have the 2nd Amendment:
“If the representatives of the people betray their constituents, there is then no recourse left but in the exertion of that original right of self-defense which is paramount to all positive forms of government, and which against the usurpations of the national rulers may be exerted with infinitely better prospect of success than against those of the rulers of an individual State. In a single State, if the persons entrusted with supreme power become usurpers, the different parcels, subdivisions, or districts of which it consists, having no distinct government in each, can take no regular measures for defense. The citizens must rush tumultuously to arms, without concert, without system, without resource; except in their courage and despair.”
