Rising prices are the fruit of demand exceeding available supply. That can be distorted by increasing the money supply (inflation) making the dollar worthless because the supply of money is increased while the available supply of oil (and other products) remain the same. The dollar is thereby devalued – more dollars chasing the same amount of goods.
So who profits from high oil prices? Maybe it’s the oil companies? That’s what the socialists would have you think, but this writer thinks there’s another possibility. What are the chances that the electric car companies can profit; and the government along with them?
If the cost of a gallon of gas goes up higher and faster than the cost of a kilowatt hour, then at some point, parity between the two is reached, and it is more attractive to have an electric vehicle than a gas vehicle. Have you seen a push for electric vehicles? Have you seen hatred, vitriol and threats toward the oil industry and fossil fuels?
Also, remember, government seeks control over your life. With an internal combustion engine, you can have a 5 gallon can of gas in your car to extend you range. If you have an electric vehicle, you can’t carry extra electricity. Have we been promised brown and black outs? Have we been advised of a shortage of electricity production? Can you see the connection?
