The popular vote sure sounds good HERE! Consider for a moment, on a national scale! 100 million people vote for candidate “A”, and 99.999 million vote for candidate “B”. That’s so close, you’ll have to have a recount. Meanwhile, power in the hands of the current administration might be badly misused. What if the recount is just as close or closer. Or, maybe the recount will be candidate “A” getting 99.999 million votes to candidate “B” getting 100 million votes. Uh, oh, another recount will be needed, and still no decision. Any skullduggery possible in the recount? The electoral college eliminates this kind of a scenario, but with crooked politicians – particularly Democrats, they don’t appreciate the wisdom of our founding fathers. A popular vote also eliminates equal representation of each state. The result will be that America is run by California and New York – ugh!
