The Bible says that man is “conceived in sin“. Many people, including professing Christians, don’t like that thought. Here’s a question; does a young child need to be taught to lie? Scripture says in Psalm 58:3 that the wicked come out of the womb speaking lies. So the answer to the above question is “No!” Romans 3:10 – 18 clarifies and defines man’s nature.
Ephesians 2:8 – 9 makes it clear that, if you are saved, it is only by GOD’s grace and His gift of faith that we are to exercise once saved. We cannot take any credit for our salvation. Mattew 25:31 – 46 makes it abundantly clear that there is a Heaven and a Hell, and Jesus Christ when He returns, will judge between the righteous (in Him) and the wicked (without Him), and that judgment will be final and without appeal.
The Gospel, in its basic presentation Mark 1:14, 15, comes down to two things – repent and believe. To repent is to change one’s ways. In other words, stop sinning and start obeying. Repentance is demonstrated as a result of belief. John 16:7,8 Jesus specifically says that He will send the Holy Spirit (referred to as the helper) to convict the world of sin. Romans 1:20 decares that GOD is known to all mankind, and so they are without excuse!
Are you a believer? If not, what’s your excuse? Whatever it is, it won’t stand before GOD! Repent and believe NOW!
Give me that old time religion!
