The 10 richest Americans, Elon Musk, Larry Ellison, Mark Zuckerberg, Jeff Bezos, Larry Page, Sergey Brin, Steve Ballmer, Jensen Huang, Warren Buffett and Michael Dell all combined are worth well over $2 Trillion! Now nobody (who’s fair minded) would begrudge them their wealth, although they might begrudge the abuse of that wealth. If they use it to dominate and oppress people and violate their privacy and deprive them of their money, then maybe they might not be well received.
All but one of the above is dominant in the tech industry. Warren Buffet is dominant in a lot of other things including cash $$$! Buffet owns more U.S. Treasury bills than the Federal Reserve! Do you think that might give him sway over the American government which is so indebted to him?
America’s GDP (Gross Domestic Product) is the sum total of all goods and services the U.S. produces (that includes federal spending numbers) and amounts to a little over $30 Trillion! In other words, these 10 guys have wealth that exceeds 7% of everything Americans produce. These guys, conservatively speaking have a net income after taxes of $10,000.00 per second! They earn more in 5 seconds than the average worker earns in a year. In three to four minutes, they earn more than the average worker earns in a life time. The average worker pays a much higher percentage in income taxes than these 10 guys! Not only that, but the constant raising of property taxes, utilities, water etc. are a much greater burden on the little guy than they are on these guys. What’s a $500 a month increase in electricity, water, food etc. to these guys? Just a millisecond of their time and no depletion of their worth.
Is all of that wrong or bad? You’ll have to decide that. How do they use their money and wealth – to do good, or to do evil? Maybe they do both? In a free enterprise capitalistic economy, you must provide some benefit in order to gain wealth. The problem is that these people do it on the backs of the taxpayers.
This writer remembers when the Tesla car first came out in 2008. It was selling for $109,000! That’s not entirely out of reach for some of the more affluent buying public. And yet, the actual cost of a Tesla at that time with all of the government subsidies and tax credits made its actual cost (undocumented but recollected) well over $250,000! Now that price of a car would have been affordable by maybe only 2% of the population at the most. So the little guy subsidised the big guy – nothing new here!
As this writer has written on numerous occasions, socialism is for the rich, and all you naive rubes who think otherwise as you feed off the government teat and rebel in the streets with your Antifa, BLM, DSA and college “buddies”, are just kidding yourselves. Socialism is just legalized thievery!
