Confirmed – Supply Chain Is An Issue!

It’s not as bad as the picture above, but it is a concern. It’s been my policy to know and have a relationship with the General Manager of the dealership where I buy my cars. Without mentioning names or places, I will say that I own a car from one of the largest manufacturers in the world.

For a little background, a few months ago I had an issue with my car. My car was in the shop for a month while I drove a loaner. The reason was that my valves needed replacement, and no distributorship had them, so the dealer had to search the entire country and buy them piece meal from several other dealerships.

The other day I took my car in for some routine maintenance (oil & filter change). In casual conversation with the GM, he told me that supply chain issues were real. He gave me two examples. One regarded a late model $80,000 car for which he could not get a windshield for six months! The other was regarding a car for which he could not obtain brakes!

I remember reading back in the 1980’s that America was set to become a “service nation”! In other words, our manufacturing was to be exported around the world, and as we know, much of it went to Communist China which considers the U.S. its enemy, and President Trump is confirming that, even though that has always been the case.

Now one must ask, “Is America run by a bunch of stupid people who make lots of mistakes, or is America run by internal enemies who are trying to destroy it? If the former, then once in a while, you’d think they’d make a mistake in our favor. As U.S. President Franklin Deleanor Roosevelt once quipped; “Nothing in politics happens by chance; it’s all very carefully planned!”

This writer is hearing strong rumblings that shortages are going to be manifesting themselves in a big way within the next few weeks. Maybe it’s so, and maybe it’s not. Take action according to your needs and abilities along with your tolerance for deprivation should it come.
