Christian Americans want to believe that America is (was) a Christian nation. In a way it was, but only in that the majority of Americans were Christian, or heavily inculcated, but the leaders who founded America were not, for the most part, Christian. They talked a good story , and made some sacrifices to their agenda in order to fool the Christian populace and beguile them with a Constitution that has some very Christian features, but has obviously been overturned because of wording that was not clear and eternal enough. Language is subject to change – i.e. “gay” meant happy 100 years ago, but today it means homosexual, and homosexual is now an accepted status (identity), and yet 100 years ago, it was a subject that would never be discussed in polite company.
