Ever Been On A Police “Ride Along”?

Police Are Between A Rock & A Hard Place!

A police “ride along” is when a civilian is allowed to accompany a police patrol car officer on his daily duties. This writer went along just the other day. The ride along is tied in with a Citizen Police Academey training which allows for an insight into the life and operations of the police at the local level.

Two things this writer thought very instructive while on the ride along are as follows. First, a lady brought her daughter in to file a report of an assault on her daughter in the daughter’s classroom at school. Her daughter was attacked and beaten savagely by another student. The other student indicated that the attack was “premeditated” in that she planned it the night before. We are talking about 12 year old kids here.

After the report was filed, the officer (with me tagging along) went to the school to learn more of the event. We met with the Vice Principal and three others in a meeting room who had something to offer. Additionally, the girl’s teacher came in to answer some questions. Cell phone video was made available to us in order to cooborrate the charges, on top of the injuries received and over 30 fellow student testimonies. It was pretty clear that the attacker was guilty of misdemeanor assault.

While in the meeting room, this writer noticed on the door of the room a series of statements presented as a conversation between a student and a teacher. It read, more or less, “you are the best teacher I’ve ever had, and if I had a different teacher, I’d punch him in the mouth and go find you!” Is it any wonder why there is violence in the school?

Additionally, this writer noted that all of the people who were in authority as teachers and administrators were very casually, or even slovenly dressed. Being from the old school, so to speak, this writer remembers all of the male teachers and administrators wearing suits and ties, and the lady teachers and administrators always wore blouses and dresses or skirts. If the kids cannot make any distinction between the adults in authority, and their peers, either in dress or ideology, then what can we expect of the kids?

The second thing that was instructive was a minor fender bender. My eyelids grew heavy watching the officer go through his investigative/questioning routine while sitting in my cramped passenger seat. When he completed his work he explained to me that the driver at fault was without insurance and a driver’s licence. The person of whom he spoke was not anglo, and appeared likely from Central or South America (IMHO).

My question to the officer was; “How do you know if she was even a citizen?” To which he responded; “I don’t!” Now consideer for a moment; if a person is an illegal immigrant, and they violate the law, what compels them to cooperate and/or submit to the law? What prevents them from leaving under a cloud only to return at a later time in a different location. Without a driver’s license, there is no verification of a picture, age, name, birthdate, address or Social Security number. In other words, the lady he gave the ticket to for not having a drivers license or insurance, both of which are illegal conduct, may never show up for adjudication or may never pay the ticket, and what can the police do? Where are they going to go to arrest her for failure to pay or appear?

Our society is breaking down is the bottom line message in this post. You can add to that all of the millions of dollars that George Soros is using to finance the elections of District Attorneys who will not prosecute crime, along with the relaxation of theft laws so that in San Francisco, for instance, you can steal up to $949.99 and have it be only a misdemeanor which doesn’t even get prosecuted. Then of course the open drug use and pooping on the streets seem minor by comparison. When it gets bad enough, then we’ll have a police state to clean it all up! Of course a police state would preclude Constitutional government, private property, freedom of speech, thought and movement etc.

A sin (or in most instances a crime) is always wrong. All people are sinners. Therefore, all people are in some way wrong. In order to get right, one must believe in Jesus Christ and repent of his/her sins. That will not stop you from being a sinner, it will just stop you from going to Hell!
