Are Jews The “Chosen People”?

The Flag Of Israel

Before getting to the subject title, the bombing of a Palestinian hospital in Gaza has raised the hackles of a lot of people. Who did it? This writer knows not who for sure. There are four possibilities; Hamas did it by accident or on purpose. If on purpose, then it would be to make Israel to look bad. On the other hand, it could have been done by Israel on purpose or by accident (check thhis out HERE and did Israel let down their guard HERE). Israel would never admit to on purpose, and Hamas would never admit to it either way. Akem’s razor would have you ask “qui bono”? (who benefits) In no way does Israel benefit, but Hamas could benefit due to the fact that the entire Arab (Mideast) population seem up in arms and unified. More importantly it serves the purpose of the eugenecist New World Orderites! This of course is speculation and not related to the title of the post.

Are the Jews still the “chosen people”? A reading of the Tanach (Torah, Writings & Prophets – Old Testament) would have to be insightful. Throughout the Tanach, God tells the nation of Israel “If”/”Then”. If you obey, then I will fulfill my promises and blessings. That is a summary, and anyone wishing to can read the Tanach or the Christian Old Testament for all of the examples.

So what’s in the history of the Tanach? The Jews violated God’s covenant on numerous occasions and as such suffered negative consequences such as military defeat, enslavement, death, drought, famine, plague and exile. After suffering God’s (Jaweh’s) judgment, God intervened (usually after national repentance) and restored the nation. Within a generation or two, the Jews were back at their anti-God pagan activities. This happened on numerous occasions, and it seems like the Jews (as a nation) never learned. They even sacrificed their children to BAAL by having them pass through the fire!

Early in the book of Genesis (before Abraham and the “chosen people”), God promises a Savior to reconcile man to God after Adam and Eve sinned in the Garden of Eden. The Savior manifested Himself a little over 2000 years ago in Bethlehem. His name was/is Jesus (meaning Savior) Christ (meaning Messiah). The Jews as a nation rejected Christ (“we have no God but Caesar”), but the first Christians were all Jewish, so the remnant of Jews were saved!

Also, if you read in the Tanach, you will see numerous prophecies (major and minor prophets) declaring that the gentiles will become a part of the “Chosen People”. Therefore, according to St. Paul, at the end of the second chapter of the book of Romans, declares that those who believe in Jesus Christ are the true Jews.

This, of course, presents a conundrum for the Jewish community at large, because they still think they are the “chosen people”. The nation of Israel has outlawed the prosylization of Christianity in Israel along with jailing any Jews who convert to Christianity. Why do they feel so threatened by a Jew (Jesus was Jewish) who preached the love of God and peace among man?

It is notable that the nation of Israel and Jews in general profess a “fellowship” between Christians and Jews, and they demonstrate that by asking for and accepting Christian’s money.
