When teaching becomes politically correct instruction (entertainment – sex ed, protestin 101 etc.) by the state (public schools), then a bias enters the system, and is imparted with vehement intellectual force (indoctrination) by the change agents (Marxists/leftists) of the system! The net result is an increase in ignorance instead of knowledge. (Statistics prove that since the Federal department of education was instituted, American students have become much more ignorant and narrowly focused politically)
History is an accumulation of knowledge of the past – man’s past primarily and GOD’s for those who are believers. This writer has developed a saying; “A smart person learns from their mistakes, a wise person learns from other’s mistakes, and a fool never learns at all“. Expressed in a slightly different way, a person who lives history will make mistakes and hopefully learn from them. A person who learns from those people’s mistakes (history) will not repeat those mistakes, or at least try to avoid doing that. A foolish person (educated by the government – public schools) will continue to repeat those mistakes and continue to suffer from the consequences of those mistakes. (The mistakes are intentionally promoted by those in authority.)
So the answer to the question above is, “Yes!”. An emphatic “Yes!”. Just remember, those who control the dissemination of knowledge (history), if they are corrupt, will be able to corrupt those to whom they are disseminating knowledge. To do that effectively, they will make the learning mandatory!
