What are the factors that affect the price of gold? Devalued currency and political unrest. What are the factors that affect the price of silver? Devalued currency, political unrest and industrial demand! At this writing, industrial demand is escalating at a rapid pace. Samsung has bought a contract for 2 years of production from a Mexican silver mine. The new “solid state” batteries that will be coming out in 2027 will require 1 kilo (2.2 lbs.) for each battery. NOTE: these new batterieswill have a very long life (some estimates a million miles – see “Performanc Goals” below), a charge time of 10 minutes or less, and a range of over 600 miles. Although the fire hazard has not been eliminated, for solid state batteries, it has been dramatically reduced.
If the above specifications come to pass, then the demand for electric vehicles will likely go through the roof. If so, worldwide sales should easily top 10 million units, and that means 22 million pounds of silver a year (currently there are 205 million above ground pounds available) A 22 million pound demand is conservative as more than likely the number will be several more million pounds a year demanded. Now the annual global production currently is 57 million pounds. If my math is correct, the industrial demand for silver is going to go through the roof! Consider that silver is also being used currently for water purification, solar panels, the best known conductor of electricity, and big tech! It is also possible that silver will again become money as paper currency is collapsing very rapidly!
See here the solid state goals for Toyota alone: Performance Goals: The first generation of these batteries is expected to offer a range of approximately 1,000 km (621 miles) and a charging time of 10 minutes or less for an 80% charge.
This writer sees silver going to at least $100, and likely much higher. Forecasts for gold are $10,000 conservatively even by establishment banks. If the gold to silver ratio is even somewhat restored, that would mean $200 silver!
