A legal dictionary defines “conspiracy” as:

conspiracy
n. when people work together by agreement to commit an illegal act. A conspiracy may exist when the parties use legal means to accomplish an illegal result, or to use illegal means to achieve something that in itself is lawful. To prove a conspiracy those involved must have agreed to the plan before all the actions have been taken, or it is just a series of independent illegal acts. A conspiracy can be criminal for planning and carrying out illegal activities, or give rise to a civil lawsuit for damages by someone injured by the conspiracy. Thus, a scheme by a group of salesmen to sell used automobiles as new, could be prosecuted as a crime of fraud and conspiracy, and also allow a purchaser of an auto to sue for damages for the fraud and conspiracy.

Clearly, people do not publicly work together to commit an illegal act. Therefore, it must be done in secret, because people doing the “agreeing” do not want to be exposed, or otherwise, it would no longer be a comspiracy!

As we have all learned, there are no left wing conspiracies, only right wing conspiracies – ask Hillary Clinton if you don’t believe that! This writer believes the conspirators have no ideological positions – only their self-interest which is represented by both the Republican and Democrat politicians through the use of money, the promise of power, and the threat of black mail.

Keep in mind, that conpirators can only succeed as long as they are not exposed!

U.S. President Franklin Deleanor Roosevelt said; In politics, nothing happens by accident. If it happens, you can bet it was planned that way!

So, if he’s right, how does it happen? Could it possibly happen in those “cigar smoke filled back-rooms” you hear about often, but are never invited in to participate? Is it possible, that wealthy, powerful and influential people gather together in secret to hatch plots to obtain wealth and power? Aw, say it isn’t so!

But just for the fun of it, let’s say it is so. How then does it happen? This writer has a belief, and here it is! First, a small number of very wealthy, maybe as few as two or three, come up with an idea. After discussing the idea, they bring in some close associates to develop the idea. The close associates might add to their numbers up to maybe as many as fifteen or twenty. These people hammer out a perspective as to what it is they want to accomplish, what the accomplishment will lead to, and the net benefits that will result for them and others of like mind.

Having refined the basic objectives, they then develop a defense of their ideas and a strategy for purveying their ideas to the people who can make a difference – that is the political class. The defence of their ideas are developed and articulated through think tanks like the Brookings Institute or any number of other “Establishment” credentialed and controlled organizations of which there are scores and probably hundreds.

These organization do opinion research, study history, and compile their arguments in favor of the emerging position. They utilize public and private media organizations to do opinion surveys with carefully worded questions that quite often are very leading and biased. They do what they can to develop a “consensus” without giving away their hand so to speak.

After this, they are ready for what is known as a “trial balloon”! A trial balloon is a public release of the idea in the most favorable light possible. Often times there is little to no resistance to the trial balloon, so they go ahead an implement it through Congress and/or State Houses, or if legislation is not needed, then by public acclamation. Public acclamation could be as benign appearing as rock and roll music, or more sinister as public denying of religous rights, DEI, teaching evolution over Creationism, pornography, adultery etc. In these circumstances, often it is judicial review instead of legislation that confirms the worthiness of the idea – i.e. pornography being “free speech”!

Sometimes, the “trial balloon” hits a brick wall of either public and/or political resistance. If that happens, then they go back to the drawing board and redevelop their arguments in favor of their position, by trying to validate it with more refined and sophisticated rational arguments coming from people with the highest credentials. Short of that, if they have no rational arguments, then they employ vitriol, mockery, ad hominem attacks, and even sarcasm to discredit their opponents. This is done through both the electronic and print media primarily, but the political arena gets involved if they can without great risk. The electronic media will include Hollywood, television news, commentaries and even the not so funny “comedians” of the day such as Stephen Colbert.

Eventually, and with rare exception, they are mostly, if not totally successful. Where they fall short of their objectives, you can rest assured they will retry their strategy at a later date if they cannot implement it by stealth through their substantial success initially. If, and it does happen on occasion, they are totally rebuffed, then they will pull the Marxixt strategy of one step backward two steps forward. In other words they will acknowledge defeat while going back to the drawing board and retrying at a later date and doing so in an even more aggressive manner so that they will hopefully, through persistence and compromise, achieve their original objective. They will, if they can, beat down the resistance. “The price of freedom is eternal vigilance!”

Keep in mind, the simple definition of conspiracy is when two or more meet in secret to plot something illegal. Is undermining, or overthrowing the Constitution illegal? Is getting control of America’s money system illegal if taking it from Americans and instead putting it in private hands known as the Federal Reserve? Is Foreign Aid illegal (giving away American’s tax dollars to another country)? Is failing to protect our borders a Constitutional violation? Is allowing, and facilitating the transporting of dangerous drugs accross our borders, unofficially but complicitly, illegal? Is paying a politician to violate his/her oath of office (bribery) illegal? Does any of the above happen by “design”? Is any of the above accomplished in secret? Is any of the above illegal? If yes, then conspiracies do exist!

As an aside, U.S. President Thomas Jefferson once said; When the people seek to change the direction of government, and vote for successive changes of administration, but there is no change in the direction of government, then you know there is a conspiracy! (Yep folks – conspiracies go way back – even before Jefferson – yep all the way back to early Biblical times!)
