British Prime Minister Keir Starmer declared the death of globalization on Sunday, announcing his government’s acceptance of the West’s new tariff-ridden era and saying he grasps the rationale behind the White House’s policy.

“The world has changed, globalization is over and we are now in a new era,” Starmer’s office said in a statement. “We’ve got to demonstrate that our approach, a more active Labour government, a more reformist government, can provide the answers for people in every part of this country.”
