Are Executive Orders Good, Bad Or….?

(Executive Orders – Good, Bad Or…?

The President of the United States cannot issue legislation. He can only issue an executive order that specifically affects those entities and parties who are under executive authority in the executive branch of government.

Congress, due to the separation of powers, is not under executive authority, and neither is the Supreme Court. Additionally, you, as an individual, are not subject to an executive order unless you work in the executive branch of government.

The problem with executive orders is that people are under the impression that they are law. Not so! Joe Biden eliminated all of Trump’s executive orders from his first term, and instituted his own in the process. Now, Trump is doing the same thing as Biden did.

The problem is that when a President leaves office, the replacement President can undo all of his good orders. Therefore, the President should seek to have his orders legislated into law.

The alternative is that the President starts to take on the aura of a dictator. If the masses, who are exceedingly ignorant, and easily manipulated and propagandized, lose sight of this, then it will become an orientation of our government, and it will likely cause the Presidency to be radically strengthened while weakening Congress.

Note; the Presidency was supposed to be the weakest of the three branches, but if it is strengthened, then the rich and powerful will have fewer people with which to deal when trying to influence government – which, by the way, they love to do!
