Quote of the day! “Behind the velvet glove of socialism, is an iron fist!”
Tonight, 9/10/24 at 8 p.m. Eastern time zone on the unbiased ABC News, Former President Trump, and Vice President Kamala Harris duked it out on national TV. It was called a debate, but it was actually a panel discussion as the presstitutes asked leading questions of the candidates, and the candidates were limited in time as to how long they could answer. The mics were supposed to be muted, but there was a lot of talking over, especially by Harris who was asked to be quiet by Trump. Both traded barbs, and the most common one for both candidates was “liar”. Tump was successful in delivering a few LOL zingers! Of course, the ABC moderators stringently fact checked Trump while giving Harris a pass!
Kamala Harris made no effort to answer the very first question she was asked. Instead she went into campaign mode and gave a speech. Kamala did better than this writer would have expected. She didn’t commit any major gaffs, and she didn’t explicate any specifics. Trump found himself on the defensive more than she was. He got a little edgy about it, and rightfully so. Harris dredged up old stuff that had been debunked (long after it was raised and repeated ad infinitum).
Harris’ was strong in her voice, and, for the most part, clear in enunciating her words. She spent a great deal of time denigrating Trump and offering very little that was substantive for what she would do instead. She refuted many of Trump’s claims of success while bringing up his criminal charges and convictions. Trump retaliated by calling her a “Marxist”, and exposing her abysmal failure at the border and with the economy.
Trump has a lot to stand on as far as the economic conditions under his tutelage. Harris tried to dismiss them, but anyone living through the Trump era knows quite well that it was much better than currently under the Biden/Harris administration – which, by the way has about 4 months left. Trump asked a critical question in his closing argument. Why can’t Kamala do some of what she’s talking about now while she and Biden can, and while they are still in office? Good question, and neither the biased and disingenuous media, nor the Democrats seem to want to address that.
That question alone had to leave Harris very vunlerable to people who are suffering right now, such as the people in Aurora, Coloraco and Springfield, Ohio. Those people are suffering dreadfully under the burden of thousands of illegal Hatian immigrants and Venezuelan street gangs (thugs) who have demonstrated a violent nature. And, of course, there are those who can’t afford to pay their bills, and soon they may be homeless along with millions of others.
In this writer’s opinion, Trump won on substance, and Harris won on superficiality. The media won on bias and loaded questions. Meanwhile, the American public is on the losing end and may never recover. Neither candidate discussed with any detail how elections might be restored to credibility so that American’s can once again be confident of the results.
All in all, the “debate” was a rehash of talking points and was not particularly informative, although Trump did cover some details better than Harris. Trump was unwilling to lay out his “plan” for America in anything other than general terms. This was probably a good strategy, because if he were to get too specific, then the media would shred everyone of his plans while praising the Democrat’s plans.
For all intents and purposes, this was just more of the same old same old. Americans should ask for better, but Americans need to be more disciplined if they want better. Americans need better and more in depth knowledge and understanding of the principles of government. The issues change all of the time. Principles should remain fixed, and principles should be the basis of every debate!
