This move aims to prevent teens from forming “negative beliefs about themselves” and is based on guidance from YouTube’s youth advisory committee. YouTube has already implemented similar restrictions in the United States and can redirect users to crisis hotlines for searches related to suicide, self-harm, and eating disorders.
