Sinaloa Drug Cartel Shooting In The Middle Of The Street.

Cui Bono?   The video is short, so let’s take a look at the situation.  A drug kingpin is arrested, and the drug cartel members go into overdrive to fight the government to get him released.  What’s wrong with this picture?

Firstly, if drugs were decriminalized (not legalized where the government has a vested interest in taxing and regulating them), then the stigma that society could, and likely would, put on those who use them would keep the usage minimal, and the people who use them unemployed.  In the process, there would be no profit motive, so nobody would care to pursue it diligently as they would only make a nominal living at it at best.

Let’s go deeper.  “Cui bono”; who benefits?  As long as drugs are illegal, crooked politicians can take bribes and/or payoffs from the cartels.  Secondly, it justifies having a large police force in order to bust the cartels who are not properly paying off the politicians, or to bust those who are not paying the politicians as much as the competition.   A large police force requires government revenues and employs a lot of people along with ancillary support groups – good for business.  All of this of course drives up the price because of the risk all around, and therefore drives up the profitability and incentives – not to mention the glamour of carrying a weapon and indulging in the occasional shoot out..

Let’s go just a little bit further.  Remember in the Obama administration when a embarrassing situation came up called Fast & Furious?  This scandal of Obama and his administration was exposed, and what he was doing was arming the cartels of Mexico with high powered rifles, machine guns and who knows what else?   Why would Obama even care about overthrowing an already corrupt and mostly Marxist government?  It could be because they weren’t in his pocket?  Cui bono?
