In the 1923 Wiemar Republic, they used Marks as wall paper and also to burn in their stoves for heat.  I guess buying this lovely piece of Satanic “s _ _ t” is better than burning your money, and is equivalent to wall paper in performance, and if things get really bad, you could still burn it.  Ah, but art is in the eye of the beholder!  The Guggenheims (early wealth in America) proved how easily they could con the wealthy elites into buying garbage art, and they made a killing off of it – even Nelson Rockefeller got on the band wagon.  Is it possible the masses have been deceived as well as the elites?  No doubt!
